Social Club

Listen to Emile VO German

The Social Club was built in the 1940s by the Companhia Siderúrgica Belgo Mineira as a gathering point where Luxembourgish engineers, foremen and their families would spend their freetime.

Only Europeans and highly ranked Brazilian engineers were granted access to the Social Club's facilities.

There, the entitled club members could benefit from several sports and social events, play tennis, sunbath by the pool, play traditional nine-pin bowling, dance and take part in several festive activities.

The Social Club still exists in João Monlevade and can be rented for special events.
